Mini Sessions - price, dates & information

Next Mini shoots are happening on the  28th October on Wandsworth Common and afternoon of 17th November at a park or venue TBC (this is a perfect time to get photos taken for Christmas gifts, as it leaves plenty of time to choose the images and get them printed up and sent back).

Please get in touch if you would like to take one of the spaces as they are booking up quickly :)

The full price of a mini shoot is £150

This is payable when you book the shoot.

+ A questionnaire to fill in so I can tailor the shoot to your family.

+ A 20 minute photoshoot in a beautiful park setting.

+ Photos to view in a private gallery.

+ 5 high-resolution digital images downloaded straight to your computer with printing rights, and the opportunity to buy other images after the shoot.

+ A 25% discount on all fine art, beautifully mounted prints.

What to expect from a mini shoot...

  • Mini shoots are a great way for you to get updated photos without a huge investment of time or money.

  • They are for up to 6 people from one family.

  • They are 20 minutes long which is enough for us to capture plenty of gorgeous photos, and they happen during Spring and Autumn and the run up to Christmas to enjoy the beautiful backdrops nature has to offer us. Whether it be the soft golden light of Autumn, or the vibrant colours of blossom on every tree during Spring, these are the most popular and magical times to have a family shoot.

  • I book in only 4-5 families each day I do them so they do sell out very quickly.

  • I will scout the best areas to get the loveliest photos and keep an eye on the weather right up until the last minute.

  • They make it easy for families who need new photos to frame, want a unique gift for Grandparents for example or just want to regularly document their children growing up.

  • I ask you to fill in a questionnaire so I can tailor the shoot to you, and I will email extra information with helpful hints and tips about what to wear for example.

  • On the day of the shoot, I will guide you through different nearby locations, helping you to know where to sit or stand with no awkward posing.

  • I believe the best photos come, not from making children behave and smile at the camera, but from bringing movement and fun into the time we have together. I want these photos to reflect your personality as a family, and show your children's unique characters :)

  • After 10 days, you will receive an email directing you to your online gallery. Here you will be able to view your edited images in the comfort of your own home, and you will have 14 days to choose the high-resolution digital images you would like to download.

  • At this point, you can choose any of your images to be printed as fine art, beautiful quality prints with a 25% discount, up to size 8"x12" ready to frame or give as gifts.

Frequently asked questions...

+ What if the weather is awful?

I always keep an eye on the weather reports in the days leading up to the shoot, and will make a final decision by 8am the day of the shoot if it is too rainy or stormy, and make a plan to reschedule.

+ What if I feel a little shy in front of the camera?

If you are feeling nervous, please don't worry, I understand how you feel so love to bring a fun relaxed atmosphere to every shoot. I will guide you through the process without making you do awkward posing, I find the most beautiful pictures come when you and your family are just having fun, jumping, swinging and giggling together. I am happy to chat about this more before the shoot if it is a genuine worry.

+ What happens if one of us is ill on the day of the shoot?

Please don't worry, I do understand that things like this can happen. I will try and reschedule free of charge, however, availability may be limited and you will only be able to reschedule once. Should you need to cancel your session for another reason before the day, only £75 of the fee will be returned, none of the fee will be returned if you cancel on the day. If I, the Photographer am unable to do the shoot due to any cause outside my control, any payments made by you for the session will be returned in full.

+ What happens if we are late?

Due to booking in a few families in one day (hence why the photoshoot is more affordable) if you happen to be late then I can only give you the remainder of your time slot, or it would eat into the next families time.

+ What if my child is over-excited or moody on the day?

I have years of experience photographing children, I have 2 myself and have a degree in Primary School teaching so have been in front of many children over the years. I aim to bring fun and adventure to the shoot so they feel like they are playing the whole time - I have found this is the best way to draw out a child's personality, so I will suggest some silly games, or a short running race, perhaps you can swing them round like a superhero while I capture their happy faces.

+ How do I know this type of shoot is right for my family?

I would say that if your baby is under the age of 6 months, this shoot would be unsuitable as they are hard to position or comfortably photograph in a shorter amount of time. I would also say that if you have children who feel a little shy around people, they may be better suited to a full 1-2 hour shoot either in the comfort of your own home or at a park of your choice.

+ What kind of photos will you take at a mini session?

I love to give you a variety to choose from so will include the whole family and also take separate photos of the children. What about photos of just you; the parents, or Mum and Dad separately with the children, so you have more to choose from and more beautiful memories?

+ What shall we all wear?

I do have extra information that I can send you when you book a shoot with me, but a little advice is to wear something you are comfortable in, and that won't go out of fashion quickly. I would always advise families to have a theme running through their outfits, but not to match too closely as this can date your photos quickly too. Have in mind the season we are photographing in. If it is Autumn, you may want lovely jumpers and scarves rather than big winter coats, and in the summer, you can wear softer shirts, skirts or T-shirts and jeans. Whatever you all feel comfortable in (this may end up meaning one of you comes as Spiderman or a rainbow Princess as my daughter would want to!)
